Fruits Of Salvation 3
“Wherefore
by their fruits ye shall know them.” Matthew 7:20
For the past couple of days, we have been setting the foundation right so we can perfectly understand what salvation came to do. One of the questions you must ask yourself as we continue this series is, 'Now that I am saved, what are those fruits that I should look out for?'
You see, there are certain fruits (that is, characters) that you must earnestly desire and pursue once you receive salvation. If you do not pursue these fruits, you would think that salvation has completed its work in your life, not realizing that you haven't even started yet.
You see, the devil isn't the biggest problem of a lot of Christians; ignorance is. Once a Christian chooses to be ignorant, then he has automatically empowered the devil. The devil thrives at the presence of ignorance.
For this reason, one of the things the devil would go for in your life is the Word of God (The Parable of the Sower: Matthew 13:3-8, 18-23). This is because the Word brings about knowledge. The devil knows that if the Word of God is planted in your heart well enough, he would not have room any more.
So before the Word would have a place in your heart, he comes to take it out. One of the reasons why the devil is referred to as the, 'Accuser of the Brethren' is because he uses every Word of God you received that you didn't make profit with against you.
He reaches out for the Word to hold it against you. If the fruits of salvation are not replicating in your life, then there is something you must do. Before we look into the fruits of salvation, it is important to note that God does not bear the fruits for you; you bear the fruits for yourself.
All God does is to empower you to produce the fruit; that is, He empowers you to bear the results. John 15:1-2 says, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” You are the branch! It is your responsibility to produce.
DECLARATION
I do not give the devil an advantage over me. I refuse to be ignorant of the devil's devices. The fruits of salvation are replicating in my life!
